Silverstone
The ROKiT BMW Motorrad British Superbike Team headed to Silverstone this weekend for the first round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Leon had a solid start to the weekends free practice sessions and placed himself into 2nd place come the end of FP3, which meant he advanced straight into Q2 on Saturday. Leon would qualify on the 4th row of the grid in tenth, ahead of the season opening race.
The pocket rocket had great pace throughout all three races over the weekend, and despite being down on horsepower compared to his competitors, would claim P6 in all three races.
The teams focus now turns the official BSB test next week at Oulton Park (12-13th April)

“It was a busy weekend for the team, and guys worked really hard to put a competitive bike out for Leon. We had a few minor issues, but I think we have to be happy with three solid top 6 finishes. We now move to Oulton Park which is typically a better circuit for Leon.”

“I’m happy with the work this weekend, however three P6 finishes doesn’t really paint the picture for us. We had a few engine issues which put us on the backfoot in terms of top speed, but credit to the team who have worked hard to keep us competitive. We were in the leading group in all three races battling for third place, so where we are and what we have at the moment I’m super happy with the results. A big thank you to the guys at ROKiT, Completely Motorbikes and all my sponsors. Roll on Oulton Park, we have a lot to look forward too.”
